Ekatvam!!

Questions are meant to be answered. But what about those questions that don’t have relevance in real.

The popular jewelry brand Tanishq has uploaded an advertisement with a very spectacular storyline and the Advertisement went Viral. The Ad has given birth to a series of controversies since its release, various religious statements; conflicts of views grasp the entire social media platform after the Advertisement's release.

#BoycottTanishq #LoveJihad is the two hashtags that have been flooding over social media for a couple of days. But, what’s the Ad? Why the ad is grabbed all the limelight and especially on those hashtags lately?

The Tanishq Ad has shown a Hindu girl married in a Muslim family, and her mother-in-law, who is also a Muslim, has arranged everything as per Hindu ritual for her daughter-in-law’s baby shower to show her love for her beloved daughter-in-law. Upon asking by her daughter-in-law, “ aapke idhar yeh to nahi hota na”, the mother-in-law beautifully replied, “par beti ki Khushi to jaruri hai na. What a wonderful story! The story is all together is full of emotion, love, and sentiments of two ladies, who belong to two other religion and the name for the Ad was Ekatvam for their new collection of jewelry Ektavam.

Unfortunately, due to the pressure from people and different political parties, Tanishq had to remove the Ad.

Now, Stop!

Love jihad!!!!!!

Well, my reaction while learning about the cause of the controversy was “Seriously!”—is it love jihad to show love, as just because the love has portrait two religions together. There are a lot of couples who are happily married in an inter-religious marriage; even the big celebrities have partners from other religions.

And when you question about if the Ad is really reflecting love jihad, I find people to tag me,” Aey tu liberal Jaise baat mat kar”!

Oh yes, the new trend on social media, your one opinion, and you will be tagged as “Liberal” or “Bhakts”.

Hold on the beer bro! I don’t believe in either of these so-called tags. Obviously, opinion varies from person to person.

In my view, Don’t you think that you should analyze and serve the platter of your words on the table later on?
